We cover the full spectrum of this ancient yet cutting-edge industry. Every aspect of Diamond Rough science and business can be revealed while using current up-to-date cash values and world consumption markets.
This course of study is customized to fit the requirements of the students. Depending on the needs of the groups/individuals, both expanded and condensed versions are available. Classes are always small and quite often private (if requested). We have thousands of carats of rough in hundreds of different types and origins for student examination.

Official Certificates of Graduation

Certificates outlining your individual course of study are issued upon successful completion of training and examination. Certificates are issued for all types of training, ranging from the most complete "Diamond Rough™" Education Course (with or without elective options) to the short, intensive courses such as the Express Encapsulated Training and the Micro Express long distance learning course.

Examples of some important areas in high demand that we most often cover in the learning arena are:

  1. Creative solutions to marketing, using difficult types of rough that accompany "mine run" parcel lots, and economic evaluation of those groups (whether cuttable or industrial grades).
  2. General grading and forming specific parcels for specialized needs (both in cuttable and industrial grades). This is an extremely broad area that requires a large block of time. Prior gemological experience (not required) is of great benefit in increasing the learning curve time at the grading tables.
  3. How to fast spot-check "mine run" parcels and/or mixed graded lots for buying. Knowing the approximate values and production potentials in an instant can make a vast difference in the overall price and the amount of goods that you can examine in a given period of time.
  4. Cuttable rough evaluations (extremely broad area); they will be learned on individual large fine goods, larger sizes in commercial goods, white verses colored and fancy colors, speculative rough in production, melee size production rough in all grades, coated goods in all sizes, and other possible areas of student request.
  5. Every aspect of weight percentage recovery and all shapes and new trends; evaluated along with the all-important aspect of the time frame for capital principle recovery and profit production. This area of study also covers the economics of the profit aspects of production: excellence in production vs. "b grade commercial production", as well as low end production (which has its place also).
  6. Specifics on cutting technologies and dealing/working with contractors and subcontractors.
  7. Manufacturing Diamond Tools for specialized uses.
  8. Using Rough Diamonds in promotions, finished jewelry, new product development lines, other more "end user" direct sales, and sales to those distributors who can possibly capture a new market. Going straight to the marketplace with a Diamond Rough product can be a win-win situation for both the consumer and you, the producing vender. This is a relatively new area for the vast majority of people in the trade, but I have been promoting it and teaching it for over 30 years. I also manufactured a product line that has had good sales since the late 1980s. This area of the business is just waiting to blossom (like the Internet in the early 1990s).
  9. Dealing with the commoditization of all types of Diamond Rough, whether cuttable or industrial quality.
  10. How to guarantee profitable purchases.

The above areas are a small overview of some of the most important aspects that can be learned and accomplished in the "Diamond Rough™" Education Course. There are dozens of other specialized areas that I have not mentioned; they include mining recovery, economic mining viability of an area, used industrial diamond recovery for recycling, and so on. I have been teaching people about Diamond Rough since the late 1970s as a sideline service for the trade. Primarily, I have been a merchant of all types and grades of Rough Diamonds, a cutting factory owner/producer, an inventor of specialized processes in the Gem/Diamond Cutting business, and a collector of rare Rough Diamond Specimens. In addition, I have been intrinsically involved in many aspects of the Industrial Diamond Trade.

Research and Development has always been an important part of my work. In 1977, I established the Clarity Grade Si-3. Since that time, the Global Diamond Trade has (for the most part) adopted Si-3 as an important Clarity category. I also established the Grades I-4 and I-5, as well as Promotional 1 (P-1) through Promotional 5 (P-5). Through years of pioneering R & D came not only this globally unique system of Rough Diamond Grading, but also the teaching methodology of the "Diamond Rough™" Education Course for the Trade - the course that has been training the experts for years. It is a great industry and has been a wonderful, creative, ever changing profession.

Please Contact Us for all course information (including the cost). Costs vary widely depending upon your requirements and pre-qualifications. This is strictly a hands on course and will only be given "live" in person (the complete course). When we have completed our sessions, you will be competent, have practical experience, and will be on the way to becoming an expert. There is no mail-order learning where the complete course is concerned. We reserve the right to accept or reject any student for any reason. High security references are required. Generally there is a 45 to 120 day waiting period for the course; some exceptions may apply (this also depends on what you need to learn). We accept approximately 1 in 8 applicants.

Understand - There is a great deal of subject matter that has not been listed above which is intrinsically important to the foundation of the "Diamond Rough™" Education Course. If you are motivated, determined, have the aptitude, the tuition and the guts, you are welcome to apply.

All knowledge and human work is in vain without "mazel and bracha". In Hebrew, Mazel means Divine luck and help from the Almighty. Bracha means blessings, which for the most part we make for ourselves through our moral and proper actions; then they are certified by the Almighty. In the Diamond World (globally), Hebrew speakers and non-Hebrew speakers alike (in the spirit of good will) close a deal by saying "mazel and bracha".

If you have a mining property anywhere in the world requiring on site consultations and evaluations I may be persuaded to travel to the location. We can discuss it.

Below is a sample course outline for your inspection.

Complete Outline and Overview

Below is a general outline of the course. This is meant only as a "basic syllabus". Most courses have customized aspects according to the requirements of any given student or group. The "Diamond Rough™" Education Course for the Trade took over 22 years to develop before being formally presented to students in the mid 1990s.

My customized course is primarily private; the maximum lab class size will be 2 or 3 students. You will receive a holistic education in each of the specific "must know" generic areas of the Diamond Rough Trade. Certain segments of the course can be vastly expanded and some sections can be contracted or eliminated. Included, along with the general subject matter, is a great deal of my personal intellectual information about the "hands on know-how of the science and feel of Rough Diamonds". This will be presented to you throughout the learning process.

Keep in mind that any previous diamond and gemological training is an asset, but not a prerequisite. The Gemological Institute of America has my personal endorsement for Polished Diamond Education. Most of the World has adopted their system of Polished Diamond Grading. Completion of The GIA Polished Diamond Course will earn any potential student of mine a considerable discount. The competency and learning curve will be far more efficient and cost effective with this foundation of Polished Diamond Training (or at least some sort of hands on experience).

It is also important that the student/group has fluency with general "business math" skills. We have a trained math instructor on staff if training is needed - this is an extra and not incorporated into the course.
Know that you will be tested on most of the subjects that we will cover. The purchase of certain textbooks is required. There will be considerable homework. There will be a great deal of hands-on evaluation examinations, grading, sorting, identification, plotting of stones for the cutting industries, etc. This will all require your hands-on physical presence. Due to extensive daily laboratory work examining Rough Diamonds, the complete course of study is not possible on any kind of correspondence basis. A few specific non-laboratory sections of the course can be partially completed through the use of the phone, email and proprietary access to our Students Section on the Internet. One example of this is the Diamond Math Education Course which involves price structure formulas and certain aspects of geometry.

Time requirements to complete the Diamond Rough Education Course: This will depend on the level of your prior knowledge. For the complete course, a person with aptitude and no prior knowledge of Diamonds (Rough and/or Polished) should schedule at least three full weeks of in-person laboratory examination work (this can be broken into 2-3 sessions, if need be). An expert with Gemological experience in Polished Diamonds who wants to study Gem Quality Rough Diamonds, as a stand-alone course, should schedule at least one week of in-person lab study. Various course options can possibly extend the complete course to as much as five weeks.

These time quotes do not include the non-lab prerequisite studies. Ample time should be set aside for the study of various Reference Books and Materials. Independent study can take as little as a month, but as long as 1 year. This is a Custom Made Private Course geared to the specific needs of the student/client. We therefore offer as much flexibility (in regards to time constraints) as possible.

For the Express Encapsulated Training Courses, please refer to the bottom section.

Diamond Rough Technology, Equipment

Exactly what Diamond Rough Programmable Equipment can do and what it can't do. The complete review of the various manufacturer's claims, and the "cost effective factor", are dissected in this course.

  1. Diamond Rough Color Meters - Automatic color analyzers that can give a readout of the Interior Color of a Rough Diamond Crystal (will give you a strong second opinion - the positive and negative aspects of their use). The bottom line here is personal knowledge with educated conclusions. That continues to be the Way of the Diamond World and the business thereof. The computer driven high-tech equipment we speak of is a nice supplement, but no more than that. There is no technological "quick fix" (in the form of "intelligent machines") that can substitute for Professional Excellence. Knowledge based upon refined education, skilled methodology and experience always wins the day.
  2. Diamond Rough Structure Analyzing Equipment as an opinion to determine the most efficient outcome of a given stone. Exterior 3D Imaging Equipment (Laser and Video Hardware) completely reviewed. The readouts and reality. Automatic CAD type Reverse Engineering Equipment produces a process of capturing the Exterior Geometry of a given piece of Diamond Rough using Laser and Video Imaging Gear. It then digitizes all the specifications. The operator can make choices by using this Rough Data as a foundation, with pre-programed Polished Symmetry Design Specifications, for producing a Cut and Polished Diamond. The pre-programmed data is outcome critical. The technology is good, but very limited. It can be used as a weak second, or perhaps third opinion.
  3. There is now 3D Interior Imaging Equipment. It is holographic in nature, and viewable in real time. These machines are like hybrids of MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray and Military Radar Imaging created specifically for the Rough Diamond Industry. Even if the stone has an Opaque Surface Appearance with Heavy Patterns, you can still get clear, viewable Interior Imaging. It's a total game-changer for Very Expensive Rough.

You will be trained to use a method of systematic examination. Being systematic is not optional.
    1. "Averaging" - Determining the mean average of a given parcel lot; grade/s, values, potential outcomes.
    2. Statistical law of averages on certain types of rough from specific locations is a reality that can be used by the confident buyer. This requires experience with a consistent mine production or a regular assortment offering. We can teach you the methodology and how and when to apply it. Being an "expert" on certain types of goods or geographic locations can be a great strength where competitive buying and offering/ bidding is the mode of the moment. You can pay more when necessary or pass when its wise to.
  20. Diamond Rough packaging for most applications (cachets categories included here) - How to package, store, protect and display Diamond Rough

    10. Specialized Diamond Rough packaging incorporating a display window for secured selling in all environments
    11. Producing a cachet item as a finished product

Diamond Math Education Course

Diamond Rough Geometry

p
All Diamond Rough takes up space and therefore has three definite dimensions and has a direct relationship to an organized system of geometrical crystallization. This applies even to the most baroque or freeform piece of rough. This study of Diamond Rough Geometry will enhance your ability to describe, classify, categorize, and evaluate the natural or altered shape / shapes of Diamond Rough regardless of its size / weight. The accuracy of the finished weight estimation from an actual stone will be determined by your ability to utilize geometrical factors. The actual valuations utilizing the system of "Diamond Rough Math" will depend on your geometrical conclusions.

Diamond Math: Rough and Polished

(This is a course within the course) - This predominantly deals with the valuation of Rough (the actual cash value based on the current market value of the day) that will be cut for gemstone purposes or reconfigured for specific industrial applications. Diamond Rough Math has a direct symbiotic relationship with Diamond Rough Geometry. Both Diamond Rough Geometry and Math can be expanded beyond our standard course of study if you have highly specialized requirements.

Calculations (systematic) - Mathematical Formulas to formulate estimation outcomes of DiamondRough to Polished Diamond gemstone shapes. Price structures in the marketplace. Reverse formulations to gain real mine values for gem quality Rough.

Diamond Rough Engineering and Mechanics

The Engineering and Mechanics part of the Diamond Math Course involves:

  1. The transformation of a stone from:
    1. Cuttable Diamond Rough to one or more Gem Quality Polished Diamonds
    2. Industrial Quality Rough to an Industrial Configuration.
  2. Using the natural symmetrical form (as-is) of Rough Diamonds to apply specific usages to a stone or a consistent parcel group.

The outcome, or usage, of Industrial Quality Diamond Rough is based purely on viability, utility, and economics. Gem Quality Diamond Rough, however, is guided by the parameters of aesthetics and economics. A Polished Diamond is simply a “Sculpted Rough Stone” with various degrees of engineering applied. On an intellectual level, Diamond Rough Engineering is the process of capturing the geometry of a given Rough Stone, and then using the data obtained as a foundation for designing a Cut and Polished Diamond within that Rough Diamond's parameters. For the most productive outcome when manipulating a Rough Diamond, it is necessary to have knowledge of cubic volume limitations and natural factors (i.e. imperfections, surface pitting, Color {with or without Color zoning}, angles, length, width, total depth, etc.). The Cut and Polished Diamond Design can be a Standard Shape or an entirely new adaptation.

A “turned-on”, trained “Diamond Mind” will integrate and mentally process:

  1. Imperfections with “Diamond Depth of Field”
  2. Diamond Math Calculations
  3. Diamond Color Factors
  4. “Stone Specific” issues.

The outcome of all factors will equal beauty and value.

In conclusion, before cutting ANY Diamond Rough, you MUST process a Rough Diamond systematically, “in your mind’s eye”. This should be done only AFTER careful, scientific, and methodical examination. An “important” Gem Quality Rough Diamond can often be studied for weeks, months, or even (in specific cases) years before cutting. There is NO reversal of a miscalculated execution of Diamond Rough Engineering.

Diamond Rough Ratio Analysis

This is the profitable utilization of Rough Diamond Material for specific Polished Cuts. It is the incorporation of all 3 "Diamond Math Education" studies: Diamond Geometry, Diamond Math and Diamond Rough Engineering and Mechanics. This is an essential area of study.

Diamond Rough Photography and Photo Analysis

We will do an overall review of this subject matter because it is a new aspect of the business and analysis of Diamond Rough. We are developing more uses as this area is currently undeveloped within the industry. This is also an optional area of training as an in-depth study. A great deal can be learned, accomplished and communicated based on high quality digital Rough Diamond Images. Similar to the way that a trained radiologist analyzes X-rays or an MRI. This is an excellent way to survey Diamond Rough from a remote location as well as a way to conduct business with clients from a distance. There are numerous "in house" uses for this specialized aspect of macro digital photography. Here are just a few...

  1. Parcel assortment breakdown - applicable for mine run and quick valuation sorting estimation.
  2. Surface and shape analysis for many types of Industrial Rough Diamonds.
  3. Instant security records for specific types of Rough goods - applicable for sealed cachet offers. Excellent for open cachet offers as well.

  2. Past, Present, and The Future
  3. Synthetic Gems
  4. Surface Evaluation - Natural vs. Synthetic
  5. Major Controlling Governments and Companies
  6. Effects on Natural Diamond Prices and Mining Production

Option - You can expand this mini-course into a medium or complete holistic course with all the specifics. This will require a considerable amount of effort and time, with specific costs.

Diamond Rough Testing

We will discuss the wisest way to go (advantages and disadvantages of each testing method), equipment overviews, and the clear advantages of using the Adite™ Diamond Testing Tools when visual identification is not enough. "Testing" areas of study include:

  1. Thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity
  2. Specific gravity
  3. Refractive index, caustic chemical reactions
  4. Hardness
  5. Experienced visual analysis, assisted and unassisted

Diamond Rough Research

Diamond Rough Reasearch includes looking at Current Events in technology and the pratical application of said technology. It also covers discovery and innovation: unique methods of Rough Diamond Extraction from the earth, expansive market uses, recycling opportunities, as well as a host of other important subject matters. This subject matter ends with the analyzation of all holistic factors for a positive outcome.

Diamond Rough Cleaning (A Complete Overview)

Diamond Rough that has been extracted from the earth needs to be properly cleaned. This must be done on a more extreme level for mined goods extracted from earthy mineral host rock (such as Kimberlite or Lamprolite) in order to have pure Diamond Rough free of external debris. Alluvial diamonds should also be cleaned properly, but generally it is a less extreme process. There are many methods for cleaning and purifying the exterior of Rough Diamonds. Some methods have the ability to cleanse the interior of specific structures of Rough. We will review all of the various methodologies and precautions that are required for efficient and safe cleaning. This includes methods that can be done by a properly trained individual, as well as those that can only be outsourced to professional cleaners.

We will cover:

  1. In-the-Field Cleaning
  2. Cleaning Types
  3. Commercial Methods in Commercial Spaces
  4. Environmental Considerations
  5. Costs
  6. Dangers and Risks: depending upon the method

Cut & Polished Diamonds as Related to Rough

A Brief Overview with options for an expanded course. This segment of the Diamond Rough Course is an absolutely necessary mini-course. In order to have a true understanding of Cuttable Rough, the Polished Goods must be understood. The more you know, the better buyer and seller you will be. The profit margins will be greater, and borderline understanding of Questionable Rough Goods will be less of a mystery. An expanded knowledge of Cut Diamond Grades will put you into deals with closer margins. There may be times when those are the only opportunities available, and something (even a small profit) is certainly better than nothing.

We will cover these topics regarding the finished product (Cut and Polished Diamonds) as relating to Diamond Rough:

  1. Color - minimizing variables and risks
  2. Clarity (when applicable) - quality verses weight, valuations
  3. Shape (when applicable) - maximum percentage yield and value
  4. Cut Proportions (when applicable) - maximum percentage yield and value
  5. Weight - There is a direct correlation, that can be studied, of a given yield from a Rough Diamond to a Polished Stone. This has to do with the overall value of a finished product. Considerations/options come with knowledge and skill that is acquired through our program and through hands-on experience. For example, choices are made during the Processing and Cutting of a piece of Rough as to whether the production goal of the Shape and Proportion is to be Ideal, Excellent, Very Good or Good. Overall Total Intrinsic Value and Marketability are true factors. One or the other of the above choices may be the wiser path. Multiple opinions on the same rough may all be correct, depending upon a Principal Owner’s business environment. Clear knowledge of the relationship between Diamond Rough and the Cut and Polished Diamond Product is not optional if one is to maximize their bottom line (profitability).

Option - You can expand this mini-course into a medium or complete holistic course with all the specifics. This will require a considerable amount of effort and time with specific costs.

Option - The Jewelry Industry: This is a total overview of the United States, Europe and East Asian Diamond Trade. This includes a view operating both from within, and independent of, the ever-expanding Jewelry Industry.

Complicated Diamond Rough

There are Rough Diamonds that have extremely complicated Crystal Structures. They can be any Weight, Shape, Clarity and Color. Only the larger sizes are noteworthy; asking for closer attention. Only based on the stone’s Weight, Clarity, “Grain” and Structural Integrity can conclusions be drawn out; yielding a plan of non-reversible best usage and value enhancement.

Large Free Form Crystal combination. In order to extract the most desirable stones, with the greatest value, this Diamond Crystal needs to be skillfully dissected by an expert who is familiar with these types of stones.

NOTE: "Complicated Rough Diamonds" are generally shunned by many Dealers and Mainstream Cutting Operations. This is due to the fact that Complicated Stones require too much hands-on knowledge, "customization", investment of time, theoretical monetary risk, patience, and focused study. This is a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY (assuming the stone or parcel of stones are priced reasonably) for the knowledgeable, confident Rough Diamond Business Entrepreneur. When this kind of Rough is presented to you, Knowledge is Power. We work through all aspects of Complicated Rough and train our students and clients to stand on their own two feet. Complete with acquired skills, practical understanding, or theoretical imagination (also a neccesity), our Philosophical Mindset (which we ingrain in our trainees) is to make conservative decisions.

  1. "High Value" Complicated Rough simply means that there is evidence to support Cuttable, Finished Gem-Cuts and/or Special Industrial Usage. The individual stone and the skill of the evaluation will determine the plan of action. Hands-on examination, with training, is really about the only way to acquire the knowledge. All avenues and equipment should be employed when applicable.
  2. "Lower Quality" Cuttable and Industrial Grade Diamonds, that have Extremely Complicated Crystal Structures, are certainly to be handled differently than "High Value". An obvious reason for this is that it may not be appropriate to spend the required Capital Investment, for the various forms of processing, to yield a useful outcome. Just as with "High Value" Rough, when dealing with "Lower Quality" stones, the individual stone and the skill of the Diamantaire evaluator will determine the plan of action.

  18. Business ventures in high risk locations
war war war war

There are certain Rough Diamond rich regions in the world that are "red flag" high risk places to be and to do business. Many of these locations are even Kimberly Process compliant on the Rough Diamond Exports. This high risk creates opportunities and possible value added profit margins. The risk could be political instability, actual war, lack of a moral code among the local population... By far the highest risk in the Tropical Locations is malaria, amoebic dysentery and other maladies. You must seriously consider and weigh all the factors. Consult your business advisors, mentors, friends and, most importantly, your family before committing to a move, project and/or a venture. We will discuss this topic in depth with actual examples.

Business Policies

Creating Purchasing Policies and Sales Policies. Overview of both DiamondRough™ Purchase and Sales Policies. Structural flexibility, along with the ability to accommodate spontaneous aberrations, both in supply and demand (which includes any market making efforts) is part of a foundation for success.

Purchasing Policies

A large and extremely important subject matter for merchants when applicable. All micro mining companies in a productive low investment geographic region with a motivated local population should have a customized premeditated purchasing policy worked out even if it remains dormant. Large mining operations need a multifaceted purchasing policy combined with a security agenda to maintain their position in the eyes of the indigenous population. This policy of yours or your company's is based upon the geological environment, seasonal weather conditions, the local population and clearly the qualifications of the employees, contractors, and partners when applicable. Multiple purchasing policies are based upon the need and goals of the company. Well thought out purchasing policies help directly to effectuate a long term successful outcome.

Sales Policies

They must be designed to suit you and/or your company's goals and requirements. Methodologies strategically designed to sell mine production, or purchased gatherings, directly and immediately impact every economic factor of a Diamond Rough business regardless of its overall sales volume. Clearly a company that sells 500 million dollars of rough per year will have a different set of formulas than a company or individual that brings to market half a million dollars. Both do need an advance sales policy structure to maximize their long term productivity and success.

Mine Ownership, Leasing, Contracting, Claims, etc.

This is only a brief outline; much has been omitted from this introductory list:

  1. Acquire the knowledge to buy in to an operational mine (types vary) with a certified output.
  2. p
    Learn about Exploration and Discovery.
  3. Corporate Operations and Investment - Purchasing equipment manufactured for your region and specific type of mining process is essential. Factors to consider are climate, availability of water, electricity, road access, airplane landing strips, security lockdown at night and when operations are dormant, and qualified operational personnel. When possible purchase equipment with upgrade options.
  4. Learn techniques for small operations and the macro economics of producing in a high yield region.
  5. boatboat
General Operations and Setting up - a new property or redevelopment of an old one. High profile state of the art recovery plants - can be small container shippable units or custom built production facilities on the site, air dropping equipment into remote areas.
  6. In depth breakdown of security, safety, communications and transportation issues.
  7. Identify valuable default byproducts of Rough Diamond Recovery (such as gold, etc.).
  8. Learn about environmentally responsible mining.
  9. A complete review of government permits, protectionism, corruption, and under and over the table percentage deals.
  10. Find the importance of employee excellence in training where heavy technological equipment is being used for the general operation - avoiding injury, death and severe equipment damage or destruction.
  11. Learn the importance of employee compensation, trust and loyalty.
  12. Identify special types of diamonds from certain regions.
  13. Choose types of start up earth works, choosing the intelligent direction you would like to go into.
  14. pp
Sampling a region and a specific location, in an area where possible Alluvial Diamonds may be found, can be done for a modest cost if there are good water resources. The equipment is portable and instantaneous results may be possible. There are all types of levels of testing a specific area, and obviously more in-depth study (for much greater expense) can be done. In some cases, it should be done if the financing is available. Hard Rock Geological Drill Samplings, as well as Deep Alluvial Samplings in dry regions, can be very costly.
  15. Meet advisors; local people and your expert.
  16. Discover the economic mining viability of a geographic area that others have given up on.
  17. Sometimes the "longer road is the shorter (and best) road". Always be honest with yourself! Avoid people with "Gold Rush Fever"! Make sure YOU don't have it!

Diamond Rough Resources Directly From the Earth

Today, there are resources and available opportunities for any motivated entrepreneurs who are willing to get involved with mining operations (both large and small). There are Global Mining Production Areas, in many countries & covering all types of climactic zones, that have current & consistent output. The door is open to motivated buyers and potential partners that have knowledge of the business and moral integrity. All mining companies, from the largest to the smallest, need returning and consistent customers in order to continue their operations. Globally, there are many undeveloped High Potential Diamond Rough Geographic Areas. Some of these locations are gold default zones, meaning there will be gold output along with the Diamond Rough.

Sourcing Diamond Rough Through Distributors

Once you are established in the Rough Diamond Trade, and have found a productive market position that requires immediate sourcing of specific types of goods, it may prudent to deal with trusted Wholesale Distributors. Therefore, if you have specific requirements, and a clear idea of the particular grades of Diamond Rough needed for your business, it may be more economically sound to purchase those goods through the established Rough Distribution Networks.

Global Valuations

There is an Eternal Intrinsic Value of Diamond Rough as a commodity. This is based on these factors (to be expounded in the course):

  1. Market Factors - Natural Diamond Rough in all grades is a vessel for value. The futuristic outlook of the Natural Diamond Rough Industry of tomorrow.
  2. Analysis - The holistic conservative view of all business factors in the Diamond Rough Trade.

Kimberly Process Compliance

The Kimberly Process is a registration and international tax process on all Rough Diamonds that are shipped and/or transported (through any means) between sovereign nations. It has become a world-wide mandatory law through a United Nations campaign. This campaign was based on what is referred to as "Conflict Diamonds". The said goal was, and is, to theoretically prevent conflict (finance of war) through means of the economic regulation of the "Valuable Diamond". Legal compliance of the Kimberly Process is not optional. We do believe in "truth, justice and free enterprise", and enjoy promoting those ideals. There is no such thing as a "Conflict Diamond", only Conflict People. The phrase "Conflict Diamonds" is not good for the business. It gives people the wrong idea about Gem Quality Diamonds in general, which are primarily a symbol of eternal love and commitment.

This a topic that has been in the news. It will be discussed and dissected. Caution through education should be taken in order to avoid costly fines and major legal problems through non-compliance. We will train you to be 100% compliant.

United Nations Lobbyist Regulators, via their Hollywood marketed Kimberley Process, have damaged the Diamond Rough Business; slowing down, and in some cases stopping cold, its economic development. This is especially true in the "Natural Diamond" Industrial Tool and Product Business. This is due, in part, to the constraint of movement of Rough Samples and Small Quantities. The damage is compounded by exorbitant regulatory and compliance costs. I know of once viable small business enterprises that were destroyed by this overreaching, overbearing, bureaucratic, globalist regulation. It has also criminalized dirt-poor, aboriginal miners by preventing them from legally making a living.

Social, Humanitarian and Natural Resource Conservation Issues will be discussed in relation to various business environments. If you, and your profitable business workings, genuinely help and enhance people's lives and their environments, you will create allies and be extremely successful. I encourage you to lobby your representative law makers to totally distance their countries from this oppressive and corrupt (at its core) Kimberley Process. This process benefits only the largest mining companies and corrupt national politicians.
